We opened in prayer and heard announcements:
- Youth-retreat at the end of this month- bring two of your favorite snacks, and one or two litres of soda. Luke Morton will be speaking.
- Saturday Night meeting, which will be this week (3/22), because of the basketball game last week which interfered. This will be our pizza night.
- Upcoming fundraisers for the Poland Mission team. Remember the yardwork lady? Talk to Mr. Adamson to get involved in that.
We sang, led by Andy and Luis:
'We wanna see Jesus Lifted High,'
'Light the fire again.'
(Here we prayed, Melody speaking).
'Here I am to Worship.'
Mr. Spoon spoke, discussing our mission, and how we need to start with those 'in our own backyard,' and begin sharing the gospel of Christ. We should be on a mission trip every day, and most of us HAVE done mission work in some form. Mission starts with your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and we should be reaching out from where we are. He touched on several traits which we need to apply to have an effective ministry: humility, compassion, and availability. We also discussed Psalm 126:5-6 (rewards for those who spread the gospel against odds), I Peter 3:15 (Being ready to 'give an account' of the hope that is in you), and Revelations 7:9-10 (Starting now, and causing an effect). To sum up, our speaker recommended that we 'take them one at a time,' because it starts right here.
We prayed, Mr. Spoon speaking, and divided up for discussion time.
Upon returning, Andy and Luis led us in another song, 'O Love that Wilt Not Let Me Go,' which I hadn't heard before, having missed the last two weeks. Again we prayed, David speaking. Finally, we were dismissed to a loud, very violent game of 'Towel,' (is that what it's called?) led by David, who suggested, "Maybe we should use rocks next time." Suuure.
Thanks to everyone, who took part in our meeting!
