A lot of times, it is uncomfortable to talk about God. I won't honestly claim to know why, but it seems to be generally agreed upon. Christian magazines, with jazzy broders and cutting edge fonts scream with the best of intentions, 'LEARN HOW TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL,' 'STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE,' and 'LEAD YOUR NEIGHBOURS TO SALVATION.' They give easy three step plans and they give you easy verses to recite at people. But what it really is, is: we're shy.

Even the most outgoing of Christian people have difficulty with talking about God or praying with or in front of other people. I know. Ask my friends, I'm considered by and large 'out-going' to the point of excess. But you know, I've never led anyone to Christ? There He directly tells us, 'Go out and make disciples of all the nations,' and here I am, vegging out in front of my computer. Until I was almost 14 (which I still am), I am blushing to say this, but I could not pray with my parents. My mother would say, "Melody, please lead the dinner prayer," and I would give some lame excuse... "The man of the house should lead the prayer..." "You can." Whatever. Just to get out of it. It wasn't that big of a deal, or it shouldn't have been, but I got all self-concious, and I couldn't handle it. Well, Christ told us (I'm paraphrasing here) 'If you deny Me before men, I will deny you before My Father.' And that's pretty freaky.

I know it's hard, and it's still hard for me. But it's time to look out side of ourselves now. Please pray for me, and help me to step outside of myself.
